The live event GLORY HILLS Signs tour 2009 was held in the live house vanvanV4 in Kanazawa. Four bands - TNX, LOCAL SOUND STYLE, UNISON SQUARE GARDEN, and GLORY HILLS - performed at the event, and UNISON SQUARE GARDEN left a lasting impression with theirs.

The venue suddenly went quiet and the stage was lit by faint blue light. Then, piercing guitar rang out, slashing through the darkness, and UNISON SQUARE GARDEN appeared on the stage. They started the live with the upbeat songs Kara Kuri Karu Kare and Sentimental period, and it was like they were saying a cheerful hello. The audience raised their hands and waved them rhythmically to the main melody. The band then dashed into Master volume. Vocalist Saito Kousuke sang in a high register, and the hot performance of bassist Tabuchi Tomoya and drummer Suzuki Takao fascinated the audience.

“Good evening, Kanazawa!” Saito tried to yell, but he seemed a little bit out of breath. “Today, we came here because GLORY HILL invited us. We haven’t come here for a long time, but we are thankful to be here!” He shouted this time, and the venue filled with loud applause. “We’ll change the mode here,” he continued, and then the slow ballad Clover started. Saito sang about his love to a sad melody, and his voice was sweet and gentle. Meanwhile, the audience stood still and listened to their music carefully.

“I liked that,” he murmured when he finished singing. “My feelings are sometimes heavy, sometimes light, but today it’s very good. I feel close to the audience at this live. We are always conscious of ‘the distance between our feelings and the audience,’ and today it’s just ideal.” He smiled. “We have only two songs left for this live, but we’ll work hard to make it our best performance, so please enjoy them. Let’s really get into things leading up to the climax!”

With this intro, Ride on time began, and the audience started clapping and jumping all together to the rhythmical music; it was as though they had all become one. Saito spoke to the audience not only with his words but with his eyes as well, and Tabuchi moved around on the stage and expressed what he was feeling with his whole body. Suzuki appealed to everyone's senses strongly with his powerful drumming.

For the last song, Show Case of Galileo, a spot light shone on Saito, and he sang at the top of his lungs, like he was putting all of his emotions into this song. “We don’t want to end this happy time,” he called out in the middle of the song, and everyone in the venue must have had the same thought. When the performance finished, Saito said, “Thank you very much, for today!” He raised his fist and shouted, and as the band left the stage, the whole venue sent them off with wild cheers and applause.
