MONKEY MAJIK- Tada, Arigatou

MONKEY MAJIK’s tenth single is truly worth the consideration.

Tada, arigatou

MONKEY MAJIK

Used as the ending theme for the romantic Japanese drama “Ando Natsu,” Tada, arigatou is an unexpectedly beautiful composition. Sung almost entirely in Japanese by Maynard and Blaise, there are only a few English words that break through the stanzas. The simple melody in the song is like a lullaby that lasts for millennia. It starts lightly with introductory piano chords before a breeze of orchestral strings hits the listeners’ ears. Tada, arigatou is light and refreshing, a song that makes you smile and cherish the good times. The cover image of the single shows love and appreciation very affectionately through an image of strawberry jam spread into the shape of a heart onto a piece of toast. It’s simple but conveys the message of the song quite clearly; the idea of simply saying: “thank you."

Yakusoku is an short acoustic demo by Blaise, seemingly recorded outside of a studio which gives it a certain natural quality. The lyrics describe creating and maintaining a self-sufficient world in a bedroom, relying mostly on his imagination. Mostly in Japanese - although it begins in English - Yakusoku is just as charming as Tada, arigatou. It also features as a bonus track on MONKEY MAJIK’s album, Time.
