Tamaki Hiroshi - Odorou yo

A lovely invitation to dance.

Tamaki Hiroshi

Tamaki Hiroshi’s first single of 2008 was the rousing Odorou yo, which served as several TV production theme songs - for example, the movie “KIDS” and the series “Super News.” The final work was released in three different presses; two of them can be considered strictly limited. This review focuses on the limited press, which features a poster and an exclusive photo book.

The first audible tunes are warm acoustic guitar chords. Hiroshi’s slightly nasal voice and the full sound of brass instruments and an electric guitar join in soon after; with the latter instruments, the pace of the music increases. Due to the change in pace and instruments, a very lively, rousing sound is created. It possesses strong rock and roll elements and easily catches the attention of listeners. Odorou yo invites you to dance. Those who want to hear the track without any vocals can do this with the instrumental counterpart. Unfortunately, the total run time of the disc is rather short at only eight minutes.

Regarding the enclosed extras, the poster shows a very pensive Tamaki Hiroshi in a casual shirt on the front and the credits on the backside. Then there is a 10-page photo book. Here the artist takes you through the start of his day, leaving the house and a few moments at work. There are one to three photos featured on one single side. All in all, these pictures are very personal and nice.

Tamaki Hiroshi’s Odorou yo is a timeless hit that will find listeners and can be recommended to all. The extras are nice and will enchant his female fans.
