MIYAVI - TORTURE

This kind of torture is ecstasy.

Single CD

TORTURE (Regular Edition)

MIYAVI

With his first single since March of this year, MIYAVI unleashes his darker side once again and ramps the rage up a notch.

TORTURE begins with hard, in-your-face guitar chords that instantly grab your attention. MIYAVI’s raw vocals kick in soon after, though it’s hard to tell he’s singing in English unless you really listen because he tends to slur his words a bit. However, it’s not a big deal at all and even adds a bit to the rough, angry mood of the track. Built around a choppy, growling electric guitar, TORTURE is anything but for fans – it’s pure pleasure to thrash and shout along to.

The second track on the single is even grungier than the first: S.M.F.B. kick starts with a wild and unrepentant fury. The drumming seems designed to keep you off balance…not that it matters as long as you are headbanging! Filled with profanity and fun, it’s far too easy to picture MIYAVI’s challenging little smirk as he sings the line “could you fuck yourself up please?” It’s no wonder this song is a hit at concerts.

The deluxe limited edition of the single contains quite a number of live recordings of other songs as bonus tracks.

With TORTURE, MIYAVI seems to be continuing the trend of harder heavy rock. This is not a problem in the least: MIYAVI has already proven his excellence in the genre, and he’s proven it again here.
