Golden Bomber - Mata kimi ni bango wo kikenakatta

Following in the footsteps of previous works, Golden Bomber still pleases fans with wild lyrics from their 2010 single.

Released on October 6, 2010, the three-track single offers a wacky selection of songs aided by Kiryuuin's eccentric method in vocal talent and the groups' overall presentation.

The title track, Mata kimi ni bango wo kikenakatta, is pretty standard. Filled with an oshare kei sound, synthesizers and a bright smile, it’s everything a song should be. But the best part of the song starts at around 3:50, where the vocalist Kiryuuin breaks away from the melody and sounds as if he’s gone off the deep end. His words slur together as he grows angrier and louder, slamming each word into the listener’s ears. After his explosion of words, he pants at the very end and the listener cannot help but burst out in laughter. The PV for Mata kimi ni bango wo kikenakatta is worth watching, too.

Neeeeeee! drags out the hyper, tense feelings thrown at the listener towards the end of the previous tracks and drains them away to reveal a quieter setting. The electric organ and a slower beat give Neeeeeee! the feel of a the song that plays in a restaurant as it closes down for the night - it's a lonesome, longing feeling for something unattainable.

The third track, † The V kei ppoi kyoku†, starts off the way a typical visual kei song would; drums count in the song, guitars squeal in the intro and screaming vocals that are a bit off-key but still edgy burst through. It’s as if the group is lightly poking fun at visual kei - and kudos to them for doing it in such a discreet manner. And last but not least, no visual kei song is complete without a guitar solo and dramatic ending, and † The V kei ppoi kyoku† comes through nicely

Mata kimi ni bango wo kikenakatta is Golden Bomber’s most recent single to date, and it’s a good listen no matter the time of day. Whether it is your first time hearing Golden Bomber or the millionth, they do not disappoint. The group is completely amusing throughout their works.

The regular edition includes a PV for Mata kimi ni bango wo kikenakatta and a making of video. Karaoke versions of each of the songs are included as well.
