Aural Vampire are a goth band from Tokyo, whose band members were classmates in highschool. United by a love for Western horror movies and bizarre art, they decided to "become heroes of the Japanese dark scene," with vocalist EXO-CHIKA in the role of a vampire woman and composer RAVEMAN as butcher out of a B-movie.
Their music combines a surprisingly upbeat sound that has its roots in techno and new wave with lyrics that mix a dark, horror-like view of the world with popular interests. When written in Japanese, Aural Vampire can also be read as Oral Vampire, giving the band name a deliberately sexy twist. Aside from his activities with Aural Vampire, RAVEMAN also works as a DJ.
