Corrupted

Corrupted is a very dark gloom and doom band, who's favorite topic is death. Their CD booklets are usually usually very clear about this, showing very blunt images of people having met violent deaths.

Like other drone metal bands like Boris or the Americans of Sunn O))), the remarkably heavy and slow riffs played by bass and guitar are very low tuned and drag on. The band's music is however much more contrasted, alternating melancholic instrumental transitions and outbursts of raw violence. The tone of the singer Hevi is very noticeable. It is very grave, deep and guttural, which is far from common with Japanese vocalists. The very pessimistic lyrics are sometimes declaimed in Japanese or in English, but are usually sung in Spanish with that very rough and harsh voice.

The band is one of the creators of the style called funeral doom, which gives them a pretty large worldwide acknowledgment.
