Steampunk metal band FATE GEAR was formed in 2015 by ex-DESTROSE guitarist Mina (one of the godmothers of the 'girls metal' movement) and ex-HEART THROB vocalist Nico. After some line-up instability early on, as well as scheduling conflicts with Nico's voice acting work, the group was soon reformatted as a 'steampunk metal orchestra'.
In this concept, Mina is the captain of the airship "FATE GEAR" and the other full-time members serve as her crew. Meanwhile, the band's various support vocalists and other guest musicians are passengers on the airship, free to come and go as they please. Frequent fliers include IBUKI, GUNGIRE's NANA, Maki Oyama and Unlucky Morpheus violinist Jill.
