21g

21g were a band that bought together three generations of Japanese rock. Led by green-masked frontman Geno, the alter-ego of everset vocalist Himura Tsuyoshi, the line-up featured ex-SIAM SHADE bassist NATCHIN and "girls metal" guitar prodigy MIYAKO.

The band's musical ethos was stubbornly old-school, eschewing synths and electronics in favour of a classic four-piece rock sound. From their debut single Amaterasu sanka onwards, all 21g's output was self-released.

The band took their name from the supposed weight of the human soul, as claimed by Duncan MacDougall in 1907.
