YAMATO

Taiko ensemble YAMATO was founded by Ogawa Masa in 1993. In over two decades, this mixed-gender troupe of drummers have performed in over fifty countries. Because the bond between the members plays such an important role in their energy and drive, the drummers live and work together in one house.

When performing, the drummers of YAMATO put their heart and soul into each and every drumbeat. However, they aren't just restricted to taiko drums, also making use of vocals and other classical Japanese instruments, such as the koto, shamisen and shinobue.
