José

José (sometimes written as “Joze”) was a Tokyo-based band formed by three members of the same university music club. They played straightforward, emotional rock highlighted by frontman and main songwriter Souta Habuka’s distinctive voice and lyrics.

They started out with a louder, more melancholy sound, but after the departure of their original bassist and the release of their first full album, Sekirara, the band shifted focus to crafting more upbeat and catchy songs.

After the departure of their second bassist in 2018, Habuka and drummer Nobumitsu "jinjin" Nakagami attempted to carry on for about six months before finally deciding to go their separate ways.
