FIVE NEW OLD is a pop-rock band that was formed in Kobe in 2010. As the name suggests, their songs combine influences from retro pop music with more contemporary sounds. They also draw on elements of R&B, gospel and alternative rock, giving their tracks a broad appeal that has allowed them to perform alongside artists from many different countries and scenes over the years. Their lyrics are written mainly in English, and they’re delivered with confidence and plenty of emotion by charismatic vocalist HIROSHI.
The band made its major debut in 2017, and the members have also been working on making their mark outside of Japan in recent years. They embarked on an Asian tour in 2019, venturing to Hong Kong, Taiwan, China and Thailand.
