Formed in 2017 by members of Starwave Records bands Misaruka and Synk;yet, Mikansei Alice didn't take long to attract a dedicated following. The ambitious visual kei band made their overseas debut at Aki no Matsuri in Switzerland after only a year together, and they embarked on back-to-back tours of Japan's 47 prefectures a year later.
Their concept is “the mental condition of an incomplete girl”, and this theme is reflected in their quirky, eclectic rock sound and the distinctive cover art of their releases. The band's lyrics are often written about female characters or from a female perspective.
