TYOSiN (pronounced “tokio sin”) is a Tokyo-based rapper. Born in 1987, he was originally known as KID NATHAN, but changed his stage name to TYOSiN in 2018.
TYOSiN’s music dips freely into a wide variety of genres, shifting abruptly from aggressive trap songs that see him jumping around the stage wildly and shouting out the lyrics to mellow and introspective tracks inspired by “emo rap” and R&B where he does more singing. He has worked with a wide range of artists, including local rappers such as Jin Dogg, Jinmenusagi, shaka bose and Tohji, as well as international acts like South Korea’s SKOLOR and Futuristic Swaver and members of US-based collective Midnight Society. These collaborations have added yet more variety to his work, and helped pave the way for some overseas performances.
An artist who is always eager to explore new sounds and creative partnerships, TYOSiN also began fronting a rock band called Help Me Plyz in 2021.
