Born to Korean and Zainichi Korean parents in 1990, Jin Dogg is a rapper hailing from Ikuno-ku, Osaka. His music can jump abruptly from explosive, hardcore-influenced numbers that see him letting out raw, cathartic screams and flailing around wildly with an unhinged smile on his face to more mellow and melancholic hip-hop songs.
He first started pursuing a career as a rapper seriously in 2010, but it was after he restarted activities in 2015 and released his first mixtape 1st High in 2016 that he truly began to gain momentum. He released his first official albums, SAD JAKE and MAD JAKE, simultaneously in December 2019.
As he lived in various countries in his youth and attended an international school, Jin Dogg is trilingual: he speaks Japanese, Korean and English. His stage name comes from a combination of his admiration for Snoop Dogg and the Jindo, a breed of dog that originated in South Korea.
