MONKEY MAJIK and Yoshida Brothers to Tour North America

After the devastation the Tohoku Earthquake and Tsunami wreaked on the city of Sendai, the members of Japanese-Canadian pop group MONKEY MAJIK—who all reside in Sendai—organized many charity events to aid in its recovery. Most notably, they established a movement called “SEND-AI” (“send love”) to help lift the spirits of the city’s residents with music. They have also held charity concerts to raise money for victims of the disaster, served as ambassadors for Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and continue to work closely with many organizations to support the Tohoku region’s recovery.

To thank those that have supported Japan’s recovery from the disaster, MONKEY MAJIK will embark on their first tour of North America since 2009, performing two shows in Canada and one in the United States. These concerts will be co-headlined by the Tsugaru-Shamisen duo Yoshida Brothers, presenting the audience with a unique mix of both traditional and modern Japanese culture.
