Singer-songwriter
YUI, who went on hiatus at the end of 2012, has revealed that she will return to the music scene with the new band
FLOWER FLOWER.
YUI announced back in November that her hiatus was in order to prepare herself for something new, and has used this time for studio and live preparation work with
FLOWER FLOWER. The four-member band was created by
YUI reaching out to musicians she respects and its name was designed to be natural and unpretentious.
FLOWER FLOWER have already played a variety of secret concerts around Japan, but their first official performance will be at
Japan Jam at Shinkiba Studio Coast on May 4th. They will also perform at
TOKYO METROPOLITAN ROCK FESTIVAL at Shinkiba Wakasu Park on May 26th.
The band consists of
YUI on vocals and guitar, along with keyboardist
mura☆jun, bassist
mafumafu and drummer
sacchan.
