andymori's frontman Oyamada Souhei has been seriously injured after jumping into a river.

A statement on the band's official website has revealed that the vocalist jumped from a height of 4.5 metres into the river at around 9am on July 4th. It is currently unclear what the reasons behind his actions were, or whether they were deliberate.

While Oyamada has suffered head injuries, chest trauma and several bone fractures, his condition is thankfully not life-threatening, as he was immediately rushed into hospital. He regained consciousness on July 5th and is currently in an intensive care unit to receive treatment and undergo tests, but has been able to gesture and move his head in response to questions.

For the time being, the focus is on Oyamada's treatment and recovery, rather than finding out the details of what happened, as the singer is still not in a fit state to explain his actions. The incident is currently being considered, however, as a sudden action caused by an unstable mental condition. It has been stated that Oyamada's full recovery and rehabilitation are expected to take from several months to a year.

The band's upcoming tour andymori Tour 2013 "ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE" and last performance before disbandment at Nippon Budokan on September 24th have both been cancelled. The band members and staff apologise for the concern and inconvenience that the situation has caused and ask for understanding.

Updates regarding Oyamada's condition will be revealed as they are known.
