As we
previously reported,
Iced Blade, a project influenced by metal, pop and anime music, ran a Kickstarter campaign in order to produce a mini-album. The campaign was a success: the band raised $5788 and managed to publish the release.
Fans can listen to the songs on
Spotify or purchase them on
iTunes. The songs have also been attached to the PC game
Sunrider, a collaboration that gave
Iced Blade some much needed exposure.
Keita Takanashi's next plan involves producing a full album for
Iced Blade. This campaign will be carried out via
Sellaband, a service similar to Kickstarter. The goal is to reach 3000 euros, and they're already almost halfway through.
Donors are to receive the album both digitally and as a physical release for 10 euros. Those that wish to donate more will be getting additional benefits, such as autographs or a poster. Details can be found
here.
Iced Blade is not the first Japanese act to try to produce an album via Sellaband - in 2008
Electric Eel Shock successfully funded the album
Sugoi Indeed. The most famous artist to have run a Sellaband campaign is most likely the American hip hop group
Public Enemy.
