Wada Koji Passes Away

"Anison" singer Wada Koji has passed away.

Vocalist Wada Koji passed away on April 3rd after a long battle with cancer. He was 42.

Wada shot to fame in 1999, when his debut single Butter-Fly was featured as the opening theme of “Digimon Adventure”, the long-running franchise’s inaugural series. He went on to carve out a successful career, releasing most of his work through “anison” specialist label Lantis.

Wada’s final single Seven ~tri.version~, a new version of his 1999 hit also featured on “Digimon Adventure”, was released on March 30th, just five days before his death.
