Known as “the charismatic leader of Japanese high school girls” and now marking her 13th year of career, Miliyah, also known as Kato Miliyah, will make her US performance debut at Sakura-Con at Washington State Convention Center in Seattle this spring from April 14th to 16th.
In 2009, 1.8 million copies of Miliyah's song Aitai were downloaded. Love Forever, a collaboration with R&B singer Shota Shimizu, was downloaded more than 2.8 million times, making Miliyah an icon of the digital generation. On March 1st this year, Miliyah released the Japanese version of How Far I’ll Go, the soundtrack of Disney movie, "Moana".
Miliyah is also known as a fashion icon and she designs for her own fashion brand KAWI JAMELE and jewelry brand MIRROR. In 2010, she was named as “WOMAN OF THE YEAR” by VOGUE JAPAN. Miliyah has also started her career as an author in 2011 and has since published several full length novels.
