RIP VAN WINKLE to Tour Europe

Rock band RIP VAN WINKLE will be touring Europe this month.

The tour will begin in Copenhagen, Denmark on October 11th and end with a performance in London, UK on October 26th. So far, the schedule also includes two dates in Finland, and more concerts may be announced in the future.

RIP VAN WINKLE is a blues rock duo led by Takuhiro Fujita, who founded the band in the early 2010s. Their music is "a strange kind of blues where a psychedelic, smoky guitar sound and poetic vocals meet straightforward drums." Musically, Fujita has a punk rock background. He began his career in a band that covered songs from acts like The Clash.

The duo's new eight-track EP HOUR GLASS will be released by the Danish label Year 22 on October 11th, coinciding with the start of the tour. The songs on the B-side of the EP are a Finnish-Japanese collaboration, and they will be performed during the lives in Copenhagen, Helsinki, and Jyväskylä.

In Denmark and Finland, RIP VAN WINKLE will also be accompanied by the up-and-coming DJ bigwest. The DJ, who recently relocated from the Kansai region to Tokyo, also works with photography and poetry and produces live music events. His DJ set on this tour is said to include old Japanese blues, folk and groovy sounds.
