Pop singer Jin Akanishi will release a new album on May 15th.
Titled THANK YOU, it will be his first original studio album in about a year and a half, following December 2017's Blessed. The title is meant to express his gratitude to the fans that have supported him over the years, as this year marks the fifth anniversary of the foundation of his independent label Go Good Records.
Akanishi was involved in the songwriting and production for all 13 songs featured on the release. In a comment about the album, he stated that it features an even more "genre-less" sound than usual, with songs that range from fun to calm, and that it has a slightly more adult feel overall than his previous works.
The album will be available in three editions. Limited Edition A will feature a bonus DVD with two music videos for the title song and making-of footage. Limited Edition B will feature live footage from his premium release event for A la carte, which was held at Toyosu PIT. The regular edition will be CD-only, but it will feature an exclusive bonus track called Can't Let You Go.
