Ex-José frontman Souta Habuka has formed a new band called GIOVANNI.
After José disbanded in 2018, Habuka had originally announced that he planned to pursue a solo career in 2019, but after releasing a few singles on his own he decided that he missed playing in a band and began working on this new
"solo band project" towards the end of the year.
The band consists of Habuka on vocals and guitar, The Cheserasera's Yusaku Nishida on bass, Wokuyama from TRY TRY NIICHE on keyboards and juJoe's Yusuke Sato on drums.
They will play their first one-man live GIOVANNI 1st at Kichijouji Planet K on January 28th. They will perform their entire currently unreleased first album, which is also titled GIOVANNI 1st, at the show, and fans in attendance
are encouraged to bring an audio recording device or to use their phones to create their own personal "live album".
The band's first music video Nanpasen de warau can be viewed below. The MV was directed by YUTA KOBAYASHI, who was also behind a number of José's videos, including the MV for the popular track Utopia no seikatsu.
