Japanese hip-hop group Dos Monos recently released a remix of the song bmbmbm by English rock band black midi. The two bands are said to have met for the first time during the Tokyo concert of black midi’s first Japan tour
and grown close afterward.
You can listen to the remix below, and it is available for download and streaming here.
In addition, Dos Monos recently announced that they will be performing at the famous American music festival SXSW, which will be taking place in Austin, Texas from March 13th to 22nd this year. The specific date and location of their
performance have not been revealed just yet, but you can keep an eye on the group's official Twitter account and profile on the SXSW website for future updates.
Dos Monos is a trio consisting of MC and trackmaker Zo Zhit, MC TAITAN MAN and MC and DJ Botsu a.k.a NGS. Utilizing beats inspired by genres such as free jazz and progressive rock, the group’s unique style lies in their groove,
which emphasizes the dissonance between the three MCs. Zo Zhit is also active as a sound producer, providing songs for artists like MUKAI TAICHI, DATS and yahyel.
The trio held their first overseas concert in Seoul, South Korea in 2017, and they performed at La Magnifique Society, a music festival held in France, after signing a deal with American record label Deathbomb Arc. They worked with producer Illicit Tsuboi on
their debut album Dos City, which was released in March 2019.
