Root, an utaite (vocalist who uploads covers of other artists' songs to video sites such as Niconico Douga and YouTube) and member of the popular group Strawberry Prince, will release a new solo EP on August 17th.
Boku wa ame ni nureta will contain five tracks. Two of the songs, Jester and Yozakura hikou, have already been revealed on Root's YouTube channel. Both tracks feature lyrics Root co-wrote with TOKU and music co-written
with Matsu.
Karaoke versions of Jester and Yozakura hikou can also be downloaded from Strawberry Prince's official website, along with a number of Root's previous original songs. Fans are encouraged to upload their own covers of the songs, provided that they credit the composers and link to the original MV and Root's Twitter and YouTube channel in the description.
Root is known for a high, laidback-sounding voice, and his colour in Strawberry Prince is
yellow. He first starting uploading covers of songs to Niconico Douga in 2015. He released his first original mini-album Kimi to boku no Story in September 2018 and his first full album Kimi to boku no himitsukichi in October 2019.
