BE:FIRST's Major Debut Single

BE:FIRST, the seven-member boy group formed from SKY-HI's audition show "THE FIRST", will release their major debut single on November 3rd.

The title track, Gifted., is the last in a series of four songs that spell out "BMSG", the name of SKY-HI's management company/label, which is now managing BE:FIRST as well as four more of the top 11 contestants from "THE FIRST". It follows the audition songs Be Free, Move On and Shining One, the latter of which was just released digitally as BE:FIRST's "pre-debut" single in August.

Unlike all of the previous releases, however, Gifted. will be hitting stores on CD. It will be available in four editions. All of them will include three tracks: the title song and the B-sides Kick Start and First Step. The regular edition will be CD-only, while the two CD+DVD editions will each feature a bonus disc with different contents. One will feature the music video for Gifted. and behind the scenes footage, while the other will include live footage of five songs from a no-audience performance BE:FIRST recorded at Kawaguchiko Stellar Theater - the same venue where the 11-member performance of To The First from the final stage of the training camp portion of "THE FIRST" took place, as well as a new video called THE FIRST #21 that was recorded for this release.

The fourth edition will be available exclusively via BMSG's shop, and it will include the bonus footage from both CD+DVD editions, as well as a 24-page photobook.

BE:FIRST are also scheduled to take the stage at a number of large-scale events in the coming months, including the SUPERSONIC festival, where they will be serving as an opening act on the September 18th date.

“The title of the single Gifted. literally means ‘to bear natural talent’, and it is a reference to the strong attitude of BE:FIRST’s members of feeling that they themselves are gifted, while also encompassing the message that ‘everyone is born gifted’. One year ago, all of the group’s members were completely unknown and unpolished as artists. Now, having honed their talents and proven their overwhelming performance ability, they have earned praise and been labeled as ‘gifted’ by the wider world, which makes the message of this song all the more convincing. It is also a positive song that can offer encouragement to those who are looking for a place to shine or to be themselves in these chaotic times.

“The period at the end of Gifted. signifies that it is the final song in a series of four tracks from ‘THE FIRST’, each of which has been named after one of the four letters in BMSG, my company name. The title of each song in the series has also reflected the number of members in the group at that time: Be Free and Move On were each performed by six members and have six letters in their titles, while Shining One featured 10 performers and has 10 letters. The period in Gifted. allows us to have seven characters in the title, like the seven members in BE:FIRST, as an indication that the group have reached their final formation and are ready to go out into the world. So, this single is both a conclusion of the previous chapter and the start of a new one.”
