ComplianS, a band consisting of THEATRE BROOK frontman Taiji Sato and RIZE bassist KenKen, will release its first album this fall.
Titled GLOBAL COMPLIANCE, it will be available for purchase via mail order from the band's official website, as well as at the venue at the Nakatsugawa THE SOLAR BUDOKAN festival, on September 23rd.
It will be released in stores on October 12th.
The album will contain 10 tracks that are said to run the gamut of rock, hip-hop and soul music, presenting sounds that only these two artists can produce. To give fans a sample of what they can expect, two tracks from the album,
Funky Messiah and a cover of Prince's
I Would Die 4 U, have been released as a preceding digital single and are available for download and streaming worldwide now.
Funky Messiah is said to be an upbeat funk rock dance tune, while the I Would Die 4 U cover is representative of their live performances, which often feature covers of songs by artists such as Prince, Stevie Wonder and Bobby Brown.
During ComplianS' shows,
Taiji plays unique solos on his Gibson acoustic guitar, distorting it loudly with effectors, while KenKen not only plays his bass but also creates beats by tapping his fingers on digital hand percussion.
Live footage of ComplianS performing two of Taiji's solo songs, Odorana sonson and Funky Saikousekininsha, as well as a cover of Bobby Brown's Every Little Step, can be viewed below.
