Rock band ABSTRACT MASH will release their first new album in 13 years on March 22nd, 2023.

ABSTRACT MASH was formed in Chiba in 2004. The group consists of vocalist and guitarist Taku Muramatsu, guitarist Yugo Kobayashi, bassist Kohei Nashimoto and drummer Yuta Sakamaki. They released their first mini-album ALL MY LIFE in 2009 and their first full album Inside the running subway in March 2010. However, Muramatsu was recruited to front ELLEGARDEN guitarist Shinichi Ubukata's band Nothing's Carved In Stone in 2009 and ABSTRACT MASH went on hiatus in May 2011.

While ABSTRACT MASH restarted activities in 2018 and they have performed live a number of times, they have not officially released any new music since their return.

The currently untitled album will come out on Silver Sun Records, Nothing's Carved In Stone's independent label. It was noted that Newspeak drummer Steven McNair will serve as the recording/mix engineer for the release and the song Silent Wheel, which they have already performed live, will be featured on it. Further details will be revealed at a later date.

Live footage of 1mm Tall, a song featured on ALL MY LIFE, from 2010 and the music video for Save the world from Inside the running subway can be viewed below.
