Ahead of SKY-HI's management company/label BMSG’s second festival
BMSG FES’23, all 23 of BMSG’s artists and trainees recently split into two teams based on their hometowns to release two special digital singles.
BMSG EAST consists of SKY-HI himself, rapper Novel Core, BE:FIRST members SOTA, JUNON and LEO, singer-songwriter Aile The Shota, MAZZEL members TAKUTO and HAYATO and trainees
RUI, KANON and TAIKI. Their song The Sun from the EAST was produced by SKY-HI and frequent collaborator Ryosuke “Dr.R” Sakai, with lyrics the two men co-wrote together with Daisuke Nakamura and the members
of BMSG EAST. It’s described as an upbeat hip-hop tune with a horn section that makes a strong impression, with inspiration from the 2000’s East Coast sound.
BMSG WEST consists of BE:FIRST members SHUNTO, RYUHEI, RYOKI and MANATO, MAZZEL members KAIRYU, NAOYA, RAN, SEITO, RYUKI and EIKI, singer REIKO and rapper
edhiii boi. Also produced by SKY-HI and Ryosuke “Dr.R” Sakai, their song The Moon in the WEST is said to be a stoic track featuring striking drum and piano phrases, with a sound inspired by West Coast hip-hop of the 2000’s.
