WagakkiBand Announce End-of-Year Hiatus

WagakkiBand have announced 2024 will be their last year of full-time activities. The octet will go on indefinite hiatus after they wrap up their 10th anniversary celebrations in December.

Speaking onstage at the Nippon Budokan on January 7th, frontwoman Yuko Suzuhana likened the troupe to The Avengers, saying the members needed time to recharge after a decade of intensive touring and recording that's spawned five original albums and two collections of Vocaloid covers.

No members have indicated the hiatus will mean a break from music in general. Not including other group projects, everyone but drummers Kuroda and Wasabi have dabbled in intermittent solo activities in recent years.
