Entertainment company Sanrio will be celebrating Hello Kitty's 50th anniversary this year. It was recently revealed that X JAPAN and THE LAST ROCKSTARS leader YOSHIKI has been chosen to produce and compose
the global theme song for Hello Kitty's golden jubilee, which will span numerous events and announcements with the theme "Let's Become Friends with the Future."
YOSHIKI’s relationship with Hello Kitty began with the collaborative creation of "yoshikitty" and yoshikitty's appearances at YOSHIKI's charity dinner shows and the worldwide broadcasts of "Yoshiki Channel".
YOSHIKI will celebrate this connection by composing a new song, scheduled for release this spring.
He commented:
"Hello Kitty, congratulations on your 50th anniversary. It is a great honor for me to receive an offer to create an official global theme song for such a wonderful event. Hello Kitty is always cute and makes everyone smile. But that is not all.
You also have inner strength. And as you make friends with others, I feel as if I understand the many reasons why people around the world love you."
