The Shinjuku Division from mixed media hip-hop project "Hypnosis Mic," Matenro, will release a new album featuring songwriting from Def Tech's Micro, AK-69, Watashi Kobayashi, No Buses and more on September 18th.
Matenro, the Shinjuku Division from mixed media hip-hop project "Hypnosis Mic," will release a new album on September 18th.
.Matenro will contain four tracks: one solo song from each of the group's three members and an audio drama titled Not For You.
The solo from the group's leader, doctor Jakurai Jinguji (voiced by Sho Hayami), Ifusassou, was composed by Micro from Def Tech and Nagacho, with lyrics Micro co-wrote with Shinji Hirao.
The solo track from host Hifumi Izanami (voiced by Ryuichi Kijima), Hajimari no Last Song, features music and lyrics penned by rapper AK-69 and The Sopranos.
The solo from salaryman Doppo Kannonzaka (voiced by
Kento Ito), Andante, features music co-written by singer-songwriter Watashi Kobayashi and rock band No Buses. The song's lyrics were penned by Kobayashi, while the track was arranged by No Buses.
This
album is the fourth in a series of seven consecutive releases "Hypnosis Mic" has scheduled for this year - one for each of the franchise's seven Divisions, which are each based on different areas in Japan. The series began with Ikebukuro Division
Buster Bros!!! in June, followed by Yokohama's MAD TRIGGER CREW in July and Shibuya's Fling Posse on August 21st.
Osaka Division Dotsuitare Hompo will be up next on October 16th, followed by Nagoya's Bad Ass Temple on November 13th and the Chuohku ward's Party of Words, the only female unit in "Hypnosis Mic," on December 11th.
