Anison singer Sayuri passed away on September 20th at the age of 28.

The news of her death was shared by her husband, Amaarashi, in a post on his X account: "She was fighting her chronic illness and thought deeply about music until the very end. There's not much I can say, but this is an indisputable fact. Please, continue to accept the love that Sayuri gave birth to, and if you do, I hope you will embrace it and live together with her."

The funeral was held only with relatives and related parties, in accordance with the wishes of the bereaved family.

Sayuri was a singer-songwriter from Fukuoka Prefecture. She started performing live in her hometown when she was a junior high school student, and made her major debut in August 2015 with Mikazuki, the ending theme for the anime series "Ranpo Kitan Game of Laplace." In December 2016, she released Furaregai Girl, written and produced by RADWIMPS frontman Yojiro Noda. She released her first album, Mikazuki no Koukai, in May 2017, and her second album, Osanketsu Shoujo, in 2022. Before her passing, she had been on a hiatus that started this July after she was diagnosed with functional dysphonia.
