LEO, a member of dance-vocal group BE:FIRST, unveiled his first solo music video today.
Titled I just wanna be myself, the song is the second from a series of solo tracks by the group's seven members called "One of the BE:ST," following JUNON's song Nova Flame, which was released on BE:FIRST's April single Masterplan.
The song is said to carry the message "Let's love ourselves and keep living the way we like." LEO co-wrote the track's lyrics with Shingo Anami of Ryokuoushoku Shakai, who is a friend of his, and LOAR, who has worked
on a number of songs for BE:FIRST over the years. The track features Anami on guitar and Hiroshi Kido on drums.
The special video incorporates ideas from LEO, opening with him playing with a golden retriever and representing a number of his hobbies and interests with items like baseball gear and a motorcycle. It shows him eating junk food at
one point before taking an afternoon nap, highlighting the theme of enjoying the things one wants to do to the fullest without paying attention to what others think.
LEO will perform the song live on TV for the first time on the TBS variety show "LOVE it!" on October 17th.
The video for I just wanna be myself can be viewed below, followed by a special dance performance video BE:FIRST recently released for Guilty, a song featured on their latest album
2:BE.
