Koda Kumi has planned a special combination of releases called
BEST～third universe～ and
UNIVERSE to kick off 2010, the year that marks the tenth anniversary of her debut as a singer.
BEST～third universe～ is the follow up of her previous best-of albums
BEST ～first things～ (2005) and
BEST ～second session～ (2006). This new album is expected to include sixteen songs, among which will be most of the singles from the last few years, including the hit
TABOO and her collaboration with popular idol group
Tohoshinki called
LAST ANGEL.
UNIVERSE, on the other hand, will be
Koda's eighth original album. It is scheduled to feature a total of thirteen tracks, including
Lick me ❤, from the single
3 SPLASH, the collaboration with her sister
misono called
It's all Love! and also
Can We Go Back. Lastly, two brand-new songs from the album have already had their names announced:
SUPERSTAR and
You're so beautiful.
Three different formats of the release will be available to purchase: 2CD+DVD, 2CD and CD+Chaku-Uta®. The DVD in question features eighteen music videos, including a large chunk of her singles released since
Koi no tsubomi (2006) and also new ones for
SUPERSTAR and
You're so beautiful. The latter format, instead of featuring both albums in physical format, will come with the actual CD of the compilation and a card to purchase the entire
UNIVERSE album via Chaku-Uta®, one of Japan's biggest official download websites.
