Chatmonchy to Perform at SXSW and Video Contest

Girl rock trio Chatmonchy will be performing at 2010's edition of the popular music festival/conference SXSW that takes place in Austin, Texas, USA.

Various other Japanese artists, such as The Pillows, quaff, the emeralds and many more artists have already performed at this event, and this is usually an excellent chance for Japanese bands to introduce themselves to an American audience. This year's edition of the festival will take place between March 12th and 21st.

Chatmonchy made their major debut in 2005 through Sony Music Japan and have steadily gained more popularity both inside and outside Japan. This will be Chatmonchy's first North American live performance, and is considered as the beginning of the next important chapter for the three girls.

Additionally, Chatmonchy are now holding a contest for the opportunity to create their next music video. Participants can send in three or more video pieces to Ki/oon records until January 11th. More information about the contest can be found on their Facebook page.
