Tokyo Jihen Arrest and Subsequent Single Postponement

It has been announced that Hata Toshiki, drummer of the popular band Tokyo Jihen, was arrested earlier this week. As a result, their upcoming single Sora ga natteiru/Onna no ko wa daredemo has been postponed.

It has been announced that Hata Toshiki, drummer of the popular band Tokyo Jihen, was arrested earlier this week for an "in flagrante delicto" offence which included obstruction of performance of public duty and an attempt to attack a police officer.

Hata Toshiki was arrested in Mikata, Tokyo on the evening of the 10th after the police received a phone call from a woman living in a private residence claiming to have heard several loud noises and discovering that her bathroom window had been broken. After a police officer arrived at the scene around ten minutes later and attempted to stop Hata for questioning, the drummer hurled himself at the police officer. Hata, who lives close to the scene of the incident, claims that he has no recollection of the event as he had drunk a significant amount of alcohol that evening.

Tokyo Jihen have published an official apology via their official website within which Hata has stated that he is sorry for troubling their fans and all those concerned with the matter. As a result of his actions, Tokyo Jihen's upcoming single Sora ga natteiru/Onna no ko wa daredemo, which was originally scheduled for release on February 23rd, has been postponed, as has promotional activity.
