A film inspired by a
Galileo Galilei song will have its European premiere at London’s
Raindance Film Festival 2011 on October 9th.
The young four-piece rock band shot to success after performing in Japan’s
Senkou Riot teenage talent festival, since which their debut single has surpassed one million download sales and their first major album reached the Oricon top five.
Now
Galileo Galilei are set for further success, after a film based on the first song they ever wrote, titled
Kanseitou (meaning "Control Tower"), will be screened at London’s
Raindance Film Festival 2011 on October 9th. The film's director
Takahiro Miki heard the song live in concert and immediately knew that he wanted to create a film from it.
The film "Control Tower" tells the story of two two alienated, directionless youths who find their place in life through music and is set in
Galileo Galilei's hometown of Wakkanai in northern Japan. More information about
Raindance and "Control Tower" can be found
