The film "Bunraku", starring popular singer
GACKT, will have its theater opening this coming Friday, on September 30th.
Many fans will have been looking forward to this news for three years, as his performance in the movie was announced
back in 2008. It was scheduled to be released in 2009, and has played at various film festivals across the globe since late 2010, but has now been given a national theater opening.
GACKT is no stranger to acting, having starred in the 2003 film "Moon Child" alongside
L'Arc~en~Ciel's
HYDE, but it was his role in the 2007 TV series "Fûrin kazan" which brought him to the attention of "Bunraku" director
Guy Moshe.
"Bunraku" also stars Hollywood actors
Josh Hartnett,
Woody Harrelson,
Demi Moore and
Ron Perlman. It tells the story of a drifter searching for revenge, alongside a bartender and a young samurai. The three battle against a ruthless leader and his army of thugs, headed by nine deadly assassins.
